Homeopathic Euphrasia acts primarily on the mucous membranes, the eyes and the nose. 
 
Euphrasia is an excellent remedy for hayfever with profuse acrid tears, and a bland nasal discharge. 
 
Inflammed conjunctival membranes may produce profuse acrid tears, which can be accompanied by bland nasal discharges and copious offenseive mucous which is coughed up.
 
Think of this remedy for conjunctivitis, where there is discharge which glues the eyelids together. The eyes are red-rimmed, burning and possibly swollen, and may have a sensation as though there were a hair stuck in them, which creates a constant desire to rub the eyes.
 
Eyes are red, itchy, burning  & photophobic
Conjunctivitis has yellow, sticky discharge & the eyelids may glue together 
Tears are profuse & acrid, & nose discharge is bland
Worse for bright light, wind & touch
Better for open air, darkness, lying down, wiping eyes & blinking
 
Recommended dosage:
Acute: Take 1 dose every 15 minutes for up to 6 doses, and then up to 3x daily if required. Stop on the change of symptoms.

Available in pillules or drops.
 
Pillules contain sucrose. Liquid remedies contain water and brandy.
